Teaching Alphabets with Yarn

My son will turn 3 in September and into preschool. Since I am a Type A personality, I am agonizing over the idea of not having him ready and prepared for school.  I want him to have fun this summer and also learn one or two things about the alphabet even if it is just the Letter "A".  I have a lot of yarn, and I mean a lot of yarn  and he loves  to cut things so last week, we spent a lot of time cutting up yarn  and gluing it to the picture of an apple for the letter "A" and also made a short form of his name using yarn and glue. He had a lot of fun and I posted it on the kitchen wall. Every time someone looks at it, he "tries" starts to explain what he did and that made me feel warm and fuzzy all over.

Now to this week, not sure what we are going to do with the letter "B". But stay tuned. If you have any ideas, please let me know!

Enjoy!
